I am still curious about my comment above regarding the dark tinted thing. and it didnt take into effect the ATI cards settings either. I tried the nokia thing and for the brightness test I wasnt able to get all the boxes with my monitor settings on max.

I used it in the past with my old 17" that was heavily blue-tinted and too dark. My NVidia card has a setting called "Color Correction" for doing all this.

There are also software adjustments you can do to compensate, like pushing up the gamma or playing with the R-G-B balance.
